What if my SVG has no path?

The tool creates a guide path in defs and attaches the textPath to that guide.

Can I change the text?

Yes. Edit the generated textPath text content and text attributes.

No. This first version generates editable SVG markup.

The tool finds the first path, assigns it a stable svgkit-text-path id, and appends textPath markup that follows that path.

It is a markup starter, not a full visual text-on-path editor. Text, offset, typography, and path selection can be edited in the generated SVG.
